Our growing season has come to a close so we no longer have a set open hour. We still welcome you to stop by the farm and visit us. We have some summer produce and continue to grow a small amount of vegetables going forward. Take a look at a list of currently available produce and contact us if you would like to stop by. We are mostly around but appreciate a heads-up. Thank you!
On the farm
All summer, we focused on growing food for you. Today, we pulled the last of the potatoes up for ourselves. Hope you enjoyed them as much as we do!
Happy Saturday!!! The night has been getting colder and the end of these dahlias will come soon. Trying to enjoy them while they last.
So grateful for this beautiful weather. Many chores are getting done! The raspberries are all pruned and ready for their long winter nap!
The weather has been phenomenal!!! It creates a color show like nothing I’ve seen here before. Our blueberry patch is like a sea of flames surrounded by the greenest of grass!
Conversation in Sweet Briar Farm kitchen: E: kale chips! Yum! Who would have thought kale could be so yummy 😋 M: well, if you put enough oil and salt on anything, it would taste good E: But it’s OLIVE oil and SEA salt. Still healthy! 😉 M: *eye roll* 🙄 Kale chips - Made with love from our own lacinato kale
I ❤️ peas!!!
One of the best parts of being on the farm is that I get to push the limit and experiment with growing various plants. This year it is culinary lemongrass. It’s quite easy to grow. Oh boy, am I glad to have an outdoor sink big enough!
That’s a wrap for our tomatoes! Thank you to these wonderful friends who came out to help us clean them up. 💓
There are apples all over the ground but they just love eating out of my buckets instead. So with a decoy bucket, tall paper bags and some defensive moves, we managed to pick some apples for us.
Happy Saturday! What a glorious day it is. It reminds me of theses bold dahlias that resemble the burning sun 🌞 with this nice weather, they will keep on blooming for a while. Just a spectacular show!
Found this red cabbage in the back of the fridge. I vaguely remember cleaning out the red cabbage row at least a month or two ago and must have put this lone cabbage away then. It is good as new!!! It was turned into a delicious red cabbage salad 😋
The grass is turning green again and no one is happier than they are 🐑
